I was already unsure about revisiting this series due to a later plot point but going from the beginning again has dissuaded me from wanting to go any further with this.more That and both instances of "fanservice" in this book were disgusting and served nothing to the plot whilst not even having the excuse of being titillating due to both women being exposed without consent. ![]() There's so much edge in this book I'm amazed I didn't get a papercut and the lack of any further explanation as to why incarnates need to be killed other than "they just naturally go mad eventually" is rather laughable. I have ten volumes of this sitting on my shelf and the last chapter in this book felt like it was leading to an endgame with Hank's powers being both removed and mysteriously restored through the power of a pretty girl in distress and Nancy being fatally wounded. I don't understand a single thing that happened in this volume - the villains are ridiculously theatrical and dramatic, spouting nothing but gibberish whilst the heroes take them at face value and react similarly serious in kind.
